Today it is becoming difficult to determine whose military you are looking at... like the Abu Ghraib prison torture video's. I don't mean foreign (MOSSAD) military, I mean Pentagon (Regular-Military), CIA (Para-Military), CIA (Contractor-Military), or just plain Corporate (Mercenary-Military). No kidding, the CIA has it's own military, that and hired Mercenary/Contractor who may also be hired by the Pentagon... to work with the CIA... and the deceived believe work for God.

Then we also have Secret NATO Militaries, a leftover of Covert-OP's from the Cold War era, that today are used and controlled primarily as US and British conduit for World domination. This secret military once was called 'Stay Behind' militaries ready for any (supposed) Communist insurgency, but in covert operations called "Strategic Tension" or "Strategy of Tension" were themselves committing acts of terrorism and death. Similar actions of recent history would be the Iran/Contra, and the Chilean government who were overthrown to protect Western Corporate interests. They among other things arranged death and destruction in allied nations, blamed it on Communists, getting citizens in Western Ally sympathies. The contingency "Pentagon Northwoods" was such a plan to be carried out in America.

Mercenary however can be hired by anyone, the Homeland Security hired Blackwater Mercenary to patrol New Orleans after the flood (with full authority to shoot to kill). Mercenary (or Private Security Corp's) may also be hired by the Pentagon indirectly like the contract involving Halliburton KBR-subsidiary in a 1999-program to train Iraq "volunteer's" in an old Russian base in Kapsovar, Hungary. Did I mention American cities may now send their police-dept for special MOUT training on the same military base used by Special Forces, BATF and the FBI. Anyway, if worse comes to worse, I thought I would describe who may be shooting at you in the future.
After WWII, the Pentagon began relying less on US Conventional Military, and more upon training foreign military/paramilitary/law enforcement to fill needs that American forces would not be allowed legally or morally. Conventional or conscripted military breaks down in the convoluted moral and ethical degradation found in wars of Empire. Conventional Military of course will still be used, however as cannon fodder until Special Op's and Corp-Military are in place to do the dirty work. Returning to the training of foreign military, this effort was begun in the "School of the Americas," this special operation was set up by the Pentagon in Panama during later 1940's, moving to Ft Benning Georgia during the 1980's.
The story given for this covert operation is that they helped America fight Communism. In reality these militaries/paramilitaries/police never saw a Communist in military action, however a specially trained cadre of these forces instead tortured and killed their own countrymen, keeping their home nation in line with US-Empire interests. Pentagon training used to accomplish this action taken from CIA Phoenix-project manuals of the Vietnam era. These manuals along with present KUBARK manual are very sophisticated and sometimes referred to as 'no touch - inTERRORgation', meaning they still employee torture, rape, and assassination to soften up the victim. The nation of Chile in South America was one of the worst atrocities done to a South American nation under covert US-government control and direction. Perhaps it was poetic justice that this atrocity was accomplished on the (infamous date of 9-11), Sept. 11, 1973.
As the atrocities of these Pentagon trained SOA militaries became more revealed (in exploits of Death-Squads, Caravan of Death, Dirty Little Wars, assassinating a Catholic Bishop and rape of American Nun's in El Salvador), by the mid 1970's the Pentagon began a new tactic of using US and member nation Mercenaries. After the fall of Russia in 1990, many former US-military leaders and lower echelon specialists left the military to form what is now known as Corporate "Private Security Forces," better known as Corporate Mercenaries for hire. Today the Pentagon utilizes and contracts out (off budget) these mercenaries rather often in covert and secret operations. It appears that US-Aid to a nation or regime often comes in handy to pay for their services. The Pentagon itself is also gracious with (free) surplus weapons and equipment no longer needed by the Pentagon.
This method of getting around government oversight and congressional control is now common in many nations. It is perfectly correct to say that Osama bin Laden and his forces are of this same extension. Osama bin Laden was among the Mujihadeen Muslim-radicals covertly rounded up from the Middle East portion of the world by US Government during the 'Cold War'. This began in Afghanistan during 1979 period when Russia had successfully infiltrated sympathizers within the Afghanistan government. During this period many radical Muslim's were rounded up and trained under US finance and CIA guidance for the Afghan war against Russia, the "Freedom Fighters never being a part of the legitimate Afghan government. Saddam in rising to power in 1979 wished to end the Russian influence in Iraq, US intelligence provided lists of Leftist leaning leaders to kill off, favorably ending any further Socialist or Communist influence.
Less patriotic are the Western Oil Corp paramilitary trained in Africa by mercenary military corporations. During the 1950-80 period Africa has been devastated as a result of Private Corp-Military and Mercenary. Our Corp-US mercenary who are contracted out by the Pentagon in the "War Against Drugs," often double-dipping by serving their own Corp interests within the same localities. Often this double dipping involves contracting additional services to the Regimes in power for a cut of the pie (nations resources, such as oil, etc). The recent democracy of Peru comes to mind, no longer called a democracy by our government, recently the regime dictator escaped in disgrace, his Intel-head was then imprisoned for crimes against the Peruvian people. Columbia South America is another nation controlled by a regime, that again the US government calls a Democracy and secretly supports, whose paramilitary murder common citizens wishing only a better life. It is common with these regimes to call more active citizens as Communist or Terrorist-Rebels, giving validity to the regimes torture and murder of it's citizens.
One of the less desirable traits in these situations such as the war against Milosevic (of the Baltic's), was that while our Pentagon attached conventional US military to the NATO Forces for a "Just War," the Pentagon also contracted out MPRI-Mercenary (Military Professional resources Inc) to train the opposition who were organized crime known as Kosovo-KLA. To understand the reasoning and purposes behind this covert operation would require a long discussion about Caspian Basin oil/gas pipeline through the Baltic into Western Europe, and also into Southern Asia. This being the Empire mindset or "greed" of everyone involved, and the extent they would go to in protecting their part of the pie. This temporary NATO (Brit/USA) occupation entering it's 15th year of permanency.
Today our military are being downsized into Special Forces with highly technical equipment. These forces are now taught media tactics and 'Urban Terrain' warfare methods that can be quickly moved into conflicts anywhere in the world. This means that future wars will be within urban locations such as cities and towns, involving civilians as often as terrorists, and these many times more often than anything called a military. In this later context the Pentagon has developed many 'non-lethal weapons' for civilian or crowd control. In this context of civilian control using Bio/Chem-agents, past experiments done Secretly, and recent weapons grade Anthrax scare using US mail, may give reason for civilians to worry.
The original name for this concept was Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT), but has developed in many synonyms of similar programs in recent times. Mind control tactics now run the gambit from sophisticated PSYOPS to brutish torture and murder. Perhaps most worrisome in this context are radical empirical people holding key positions of power in the US Corporate/Government. Those now in control downsizing and outsourcing to their own (often overseas) Corporate or Intelligence Agencies along with Pentagon Special Operations. This has required destroying Constitutional Laws and International Treaties, along with alienating most former allies.
Today thanks to Cheney/Bush, clandestine operations such as School of The Americas may in part cease. The New World Order plans of the Bush-Administration call for initiating "Project of the New American Century" plans and policies, these are empirical plans established during the Nixon/Reagan era of government lawlessness. Today the PNAC 1997-plan is world domination by vastly enlarging US military, building high tech bases all over the world, and dominating on land, sea, sky and all space. This will give the worlds surviving Empire (US Military/Industrial Complex) dominance over every nation on earth, including our allies. By the way, essentially every male-person within the Bush administration is a member of this small group of PNAC radical right-wing organization. How deep these radicals have wormed their way into the Military/Industrial Complex now controlling our Corp/Government, is indeed something to worry about.
