In the later part of George HW Bush's (1989-93) Presidential term, he made a now famous plea for "kinder and gentler...points of light." Americans might be shocked to learn what background Bush had to draw upon in making this appeal.

Here are some important and pertinent facts that should be taken into consideration. Previously, as the Director of the CIA from 1976-77, he received invaluable information of national and world events available to very few. As President from 1989-93 he continued receiving daily input from security advisers of the Pentagon/FBI/CIA/NSA, and many other national and international security offices. Then indeed, what may have been the concern and purpose of his appeal?

  

Here are a few things that were evidently on his mind. He would have known of the American military school that began in Panama just after World War II, later re-named the "School of the Americas" and relocated to Ft Benning Georgia. He would have known that by the 1960's this training facility was processing many Latin American military and para-military personnel, the effort being to develop allies against Communism. He and Dept of Defense (Dick Cheney 1991) would also have known about the Pentagon manual used to train at least a special cadre of these graduates, the manual admitted to by the Pentagon in 1991 and called "Dirty Tricks." He would have known that this manual resulted in very large numbers of atrocities to many civilians throughout the South Americas, by the very graduates of this school. He would have known of the Bishop in El Salvador assassinated by these graduates, the Bishops crime was speaking in defense of the poor and against the regime in power.

  

Bush would have known of the American church women (Nun's) in El Salvadore, raped and murdered by the graduates of this school, the reason as many patriotic men will tell you, the Nun's were communist sympathizers. He would have known of the illegal detention, kidnapping, torture, assassination, and murder of many thousands of men, women, and children, whose views and words conflicted with the views of "Democracy" held by these graduates. He would have known of warrants from several nations against these graduates, who killed not communist military, but instead tortured and murdered common citizens and visiting foreign nationals. He would have known of the number of S.American dictators and regimes who formed the Condor terrorist organization, whose job was to go around the world and assassinate people (mostly escapees from these dictatorships and regimes) who were voicing views uncomplimentary of the "Democracies back home."

Top Secret US-Intelligence documents now released through Freedom of Information Act show that the CIA at this time was informed and had strong evidence that Condor was behind the car bombing deaths of year 1977 in front of the US-Capital. Bush as CIA-Director in 1977 and as revealed in these documents would have known the reports he did give out were to deliberately misleading investigation away from these assassins. He would have known what has now been proven, that the School of the Americas is similar to our Senator McCarthy witch-hunts, with results being that 'the ends justify the means'. He would have known this School and events covered many years, and that some of the murderers and assassins returned to the School of the Americas for additional training, some even returning to train others in what they had learned from practice. Some of the portraits of graduate heroes hanging in this school were people guilty of the most unspeakable atrocities ever perpetrated against people anywhere in the world.

So what was George Bush indicating by these 'points of light'. It may well be that he was suggesting many little bullet holes to solve deep-black covert crimes. We might even ask some of the heroes who were associated with and graduated from this school, but who would believe Manuel Noriega, or say the military genius who began the "Dirty Little War", or the military genius of the "Death Squads," or other geniuses who used the "Caravan of Death." Later in year 1998 GHW Bush demanded the release of the Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet from arrest in Britain on an international warrant charging "Crimes Against Humanity." And what of these great principles of this era against the Evil Empire called Communism. Bushs old working Partner Henry Kissinger (better dead than red) who did most of the dirty work in setting up S.American killers-of-communists, now has an agency making very good money representing Communist China. And Bush of course as representative for Carlyle Group, snuggles up to Saudi Arabian investors.

Many live in fear or denial and do nothing while justice is denied to many others. Very few fight for justice, while many fight against justice, it is no wonder the majority in America are called "The Silent Majority." It is my hope that people will find a limit in trusting others to do what only they themselves must do for themselves. The question may be, is there anything left of Americas greatness, can we return to the greatness we once thought existed. I hope we learn from Americas history, before the America Dream becomes History.
